Growing up in Maine, David Skye™ first started his career (2000) as a high energy crowd pleasing DJ at the world famous Pier in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. With his diverse music selection from 80's 90's Top 40 and the hottest House music around he knows how to entertain a demanding high energy crowd! As for the seasonal residency at The Pier for only a few months in the summer he ventured to to the year round night life in the city of Portland Maine. This quiet city was turned upside down with the new guy behind the decks. Bringing much needed diverse music other than on the local radio station. His sets are a non stop dance party with very few breaks matched beat to beat. When asked by the local Phoenix Magizine ' How do you know what to play and if the crowd is happy with your sets/selection of music?' He responded after coming down from the DJ booth atop the dance floor on a Saturday night and said 'You know your doing a great job when people are leaving here at the end of the night dripping with sweat and huge smiles on their faces, most coming back from the previous night'
Growing a following in the Portland Night scene he has landed some of the hottest gigs in the Old Port, turning hump day Wednesdays into the new weekend! The Stadium was a major accomplishment for this DJ. Turning a huge warehouse like Sports bar that had the biggest capacity in Portland and jam packing it with people who wanted to dance! Yea, you could still go there and watch your favorite game and also stay for the biggest and hottest night of the week. Over 800 people would show up and the lines would be around the corner after 1030!! 'Building this night was a great success and that's an understatement' From being stuck in the corner on a banquet table with poor speakers to having intelligent lighting a banging sound system,a DJ booth above the 800+ people and silhoette screens! Doing the dangerous, he ventured out to another Club in the Old Port, Cactus Club on Tuesday nights. He saw the potential in this small venue and started promoting for Tuesdays and went right for the wallets, $1 U CALL IT and sure enough, this night took off really quick! This coyote style bar was just the ticket for a Tuesday night college crowd. Girls dancing from poles on the bar, body shots, this should have been a clip in the Girls Gone Wild videos. After a few short weeks and celebs going into rehab he decided to make Sundays Celebrity Rehab. Taking some ideas from the world famous REHAB Sundays in Vegas poolside at the Hard Rock Hotel, turning this recovery day for most was just another way to celebrate Sunday Fundays!
Venturing for a Friday night gig, he was offered by a new NYC style night club 'to make this place rock!' owner Marcus Verril said in an interview in the Phoenix. 'We knew what this DJ could do around here and when we heard he was available, we hunted him down!' After some advertising and some free passes..BOOM another night to check off to dance your ass off! 'People will come even if they forget or don't have their passes, and thats a couple of drinks, but they still are wiling to make it out because it such a great night, great atmoshere and hot bartenders!'one patron was asked.
